A lifelong New Yorker, Jay Ringel has been practicing law for more than 30 years. He established his own firm in 1986. Originally a general practitioner handling a variety of commercial, real estate and individual transactions and litigation matters, his practice has evolved into one concentrating on residential real estate transactions. For over 25 years, residential real estate transactions have been the predominant component of Jay’s practice. Jay’s general practice background still serves him well; he has an acute ability to see the “big picture” and recognize potential issues and problems that go beyond the traditional boundaries of a typical residential real estate transaction.
Jay’s expertise in New York residential real estate law is widely recognized throughout the New York real estate community. This fall, he will be serving as an instructor in the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) New York Residential Specialist (NYRS) credentialing course for real estate brokers. The NYRS designation is REBNY’s highest professional credential for residential real estate agents in New York City. It identifies those brokers who have met qualifying criteria and successfully completed an advanced course of study. To learn more about the NYRS program, click here.
Jay is a graduate of Boston University School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
